Abstract

The total workforce in August 2020 reached 738,637 people, an increase of 10,616 people compared to the number of the workforce in August 2019, which was 728,021 people. When compared to the August 2018 period, it increased by 20,051 people.
The number of people working in August 2020 decreased compared to August 2019, which was 2,077 people. In August 2020 the total working population was 699,881 people, while in August 2019 there were 701,958 people.
The Open Unemployment Rate (TPT) in August 2020 was 5.25 percent, up 1.67 percentage points compared to the TPT in August 2019. And an increase of 1.64 percentage points compared to August 2018, which was 3.61 percent.
The Labor Force Participation Rate (TPAK) in August 2020 was 66.89 percent, down by 0.21 percentage points compared to the TPAK in August 2019 of 67.10 percent.
In August 2020, the highest Open Unemployment Rate (TPT) was in the SMA / SMK education group, amounting to 9.01 percent. Meanwhile, the unemployment rate at the Diploma / University level was 5.53 percent and junior high school below 3.26 percent.
