Abstract

  • The main patterns of trade distribution in the Bangka Belitung Islands Province:
  1.  Rice: Outside the Province → Distributor → Wholesaler → Retailer → End Consumer.
  2. Red chilies: Farmers → Collectors Traders → Retailers → End Consumers.
  3. Shallots: Outside the province → Wholesaler → Retailer → End Consumers.
  4. Chicken meat: Producers → Retailers → End Consumers.
  • Among the four strategic commodities, the longest trading distribution pattern in the Bangka Belitung Islands Province is rice.  On the other hand, the lowest total trade and transportation margin (MPP) is the total MPP of rice at 22.74 percent, which means that the increase in rice prices from the producer level to the final consumer in the Bangka Belitung Islands is 22.74 percent.  The total MPP for rice in 2019 increased by 0.93 points compared to the total MPP in 2018 which was 21.81 percent.
  •  The percentage of total MPP of red chilies in the Bangka Belitung Islands in 2019 was 57.43 percent (y-on-y decreased by 8.83 points);  red onion 60.43 percent (y-on-y up 31.26 points);  and chicken meat 36.75 percent (y-on-y increased 9.76 points).
