In May 2015 Pangkalpinang deflation of 0.61 percent in the Consumer Price Index (CPI) amounted to 118.06 after the April 2014 inflation amounted to 0.87 percent with CPI of 118.79.
Deflation occurs due to a decrease in the price indicated by the decline in the index in three groups namely foodstuffs expenditure of 2.32 percent; clothing group by 0.03 percent; as well as transport, communication and financial services 0.84 percent. Expenditure groups increased the index is processed food, beverages, cigarettes and tobacco by 0.43 percent; housing, water, electricity, gas, and fuel 0.07 percent; and the health group by 0.05 percent. Calendar year inflation rate in May 2015 was a deflation of 0.17 percent and the inflation rate year-on-year (May 2015 to May 2014) by 6.52 percent.
The core component in May 2015 contributed a deflation of 0.26 percent and volatile components deflation of 0.30 percent. While the component whose price is set by the government contributed to deflation of 0.05 percent.
