Abstract

  • In December 2023, inflation year on year (y-on-y) and calendar year or year to date (y-to-d) takes into account changes in the Consumer Price Index (CPI) in the same period so that the figures will also show the same value. Pangkalpinang experienced y-on-y and y-to-d inflation of 2.01 percent with a CPI of 115.94. The lowest y-on-y and y-to-d inflation in Indonesia occurred in Bandung at 0.63 percent with a CPI of 116.16. Meanwhile, the highest y-on-y and y-to-d inflation in Indonesia occurred in Sumenep at 5.08 percent with a CPI of 120.82.
  • Meanwhile, on a monthly basis or the Month to Month (m-to-m) inflation rate for December 2023 Pangkalpinang is 0.26 percent.
  • Pangkalpinang's Year on Year (y-on-y) and Year to Date (y-to-d) inflation occurred due to price increases as indicated by the increase in CPI in almost all expenditure groups, namely: food, beverage and tobacco groups amounting to 4.36 percent; clothing and footwear group at 0.42 percent; equipment, tools and routine household maintenance group at 0.01 percent; health group 12.80 percent; transportation group at 0.57 percent; information, communication and financial services group at 0.32 percent; recreation, sports and culture group at 0.49 percent; education group at 1.18 percent; food and beverage/restaurant provision group at 0.72 percent; and the personal care and other services group at 0.89 percent. On the other hand, the group that experienced deflation or a decline in the CPI was the housing, water, electricity and household fuel group that experienced deflation of 0.10 percent.
  • The y-on-y and y-to-d deflation rate for the Energy component was 0.42 percent with a share of 0.0463 percent; Meanwhile, the Foodstuffs component experienced y-on-y and y-to-d inflation of 3.00 percent with a share of 0.7308 percent.
