Abstract

  • In July 2022, Tanjungpandan City experienced inflation of 1.12 percent with a CPI of 117.27. Of the 90 CPI cities in Indonesia, the highest inflation occurred in Kendari at 2.27 percent with the CPI at 113.98 and the lowest inflation occurred in Pematang Siantar and Tanjung at 0.04 percent with CPI at 112.53 and 113.88, respectively. . In July 2022, all CPI cities in Indonesia experienced inflation.
  • Inflation occurred due to an increase in the index of expenditure groups, namely: food, beverages and tobacco by 1.30 percent; clothing and footwear group by 0.01 percent; housing, water, electricity, and household fuel groups by 0.55 percent; household equipment, equipment and routine maintenance group by 0.23 percent; transportation group by 4.35 percent; education group by 2.14 percent; food and beverage/restaurant supply group by 0.14 percent; and the personal care and other services group by 0.03 percent. Some other expenditure groups experienced deflation, namely: the information, communication and financial services group by 0.09 percent and the recreation, sports and culture group by 1.53 percent. The health group did not change.
  • The inflation rate for the calendar year July 2022 is 5.72 percent and the year-on-year inflation rate (July 2022 to July 2021) is 7.57 percent.
  • The energy group in July 2022 experienced inflation of 0.80 percent with a CPI of 105.53. Meanwhile, the food ingredients component in July 2022 experienced inflation of 1.60 percent with a CPI of 125.38.
