Abstract

  • In February 2021, Tanjungpandan City experienced inflation of 0.28 percent with a CPI of 108.04. Of the 90 CPI cities, 56 experienced inflation and 34 cities experienced deflation.
  • Inflation occurred due to an increase in prices as indicated by an increase in some of the index for the expenditure group, namely: the food, beverage and tobacco group by 0.54 percent; housing, water, electricity, and household fuel group of 0.51 percent; equipment, tools, and household routine maintenance group by 0.11 percent; the health group of 0.48 percent; and the information, communication and financial services group of 0.23 percent. Some of the other expenditure groups experienced deflation, namely: the transportation group by 0.17 percent and the personal care and other services group by 0.32 percent. Meanwhile, recreational, sports and cultural groups; food and beverage / restaurant supply group; education group; and the clothing and footwear group did not change.
  • The calendar year inflation rate is 1.31 percent and the year-on-year inflation rate (February 2021 against February 2020) is 4.23 percent.
  • The energy group in February 2021 experienced inflation of 0.72 percent with the CPI of 103.33. Meanwhile, the foodstuff component in February 2021 experienced inflation of 0.55 percent with a CPI of 112.40.
