Abstract

  • In November 2019 Tanjungpandan City experienced deflation of 1.06 percent with the Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 146.21.
  • Deflation occurred due to falling prices as indicated by a fall in the two expenditure groups index namely the foodstuffs group at 2.72 percent and the transportation, communication and financial services group at 3.72 percent. Meanwhile, five other groups experienced inflation, namely the processed foods, beverages, cigarettes, and tobacco group of 0.07 percent; housing, water, electricity, gas and fuel by 0.47 percent; clothing group by 0,19 percent; health group of 0.12 percent; and the education, recreation and sports group by 0.16 percent.
  • The November 2019 calendar year inflation rate is 2.00 percent and the year-on-year inflation rate (November 2019 against November 2018) is 2.85 percent.
  • The core component in November 2019 experienced a deflation of 0.15 percent; the volatile component experienced deflation of 2.32 percent; and the government-regulated component experienced deflation of 2.46 percent.
  • Out of 82 CPI cities, 57 cities experienced inflation and 25 cities experienced deflation. The highest inflation occurred in Manado City at 3.30 percent with CPI of 140.99 and the lowest at 0.01 percent occurred in Malang City with CPI of 136.92. While the highest deflation occurred in Tanjungpandan City by 1.06 percent with CPI of 146.21 and the lowest in Batam and Denpasar cities by 0.01 percent.
