Abstract

  • IDI is a composite indicator that shows the level of development of democracy in Indonesia. The level of achievement is measured based on the implementation and development of three aspects of democracy, namely Civil Liberties, Political Rights (Political Rights), and Institutions of Democracy (Institution of Democracy).
  • The methodology for calculating IDI uses 4 data sources, namely: (1) reviewing local newspapers, (2) reviewing documents (Perda, Pergub, etc.), (3) Focus Group Discussion (FGD) and (4) in-depth interviews.
  • The Indonesian Democracy Index (IDI) of the Bangka Belitung Islands Province in 2018 reached 73.43 on a scale of 0 to 100. This number declined compared to the IDI 2017 figure of 80.11. Achievement of democratic performance. The Bangka Belitung Islands in 2018 dropped from the "good" category to the "moderate" category. The classification of the level of democracy is grouped into three categories, namely "good" (index> 80), "moderate" (index 60 - 80), and "bad" (index <60).
  • Changes in the IDI number of the Bangka Belitung Islands from 2017-2018 were influenced by three aspects of democracy namely (1) Civil Liberties dropped 2.12 points (from 83.07 to 80.95), (2) Political Rights dropped 8.74 points ( from 82.30 to 73.56), and (3) Democratic Institutions fell 9.13 points (from 72.89 to 63.76).
