In May 2018 Tanjungpandan City experienced an inflation of 0.32 percent with the Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 139.76.
Inflation was attributable to price increases as indicated by rising indexes in four expenditure categories: transport, communications and financial services by 2.38 percent; housing, water, electricity, gas and fuel by 0.83 percent; clothing by 0.08 percent; and food, beverage, cigarette and tobacco group by 0.05 percent. While the foodstuff category decreased by 0.71 percent. Health groups and recreational education groups, and sports are relatively stable.
The inflation rate for the calendar year of May 2018 was 0.14 percent and the year-on-year inflation rate (May 2018 to May 2017) was 2.33 percent.
The core component in May 2018 experienced inflation of 0.10 percent; volatile components experienced deflation of 0.30 percent; and government regulated components experienced inflation of 1.88 percent.
