Abstract

In October 2016 Pangkalpinang experienced a deflation of 0.34 percent with the Consumer Price Index (CPI) amounted to130.12 after in September 2016 experienced an inflation rate of 0.64 percent with CPI of 130.56.
Deflation occurs due to a decrease in the price indicated by the decline in the index in four groups, namely expensefoodstuffs; food, beverages, cigarettes and tobacco; clothing; as well as transport, communication, and financial services.
The inflation rate in October 2016 calendar year is 5.13 per cent and the inflation rate year-on-year (October 2016 toOctober 2015) amounted to 5.69 percent.
