Abstract

In August 2016 the City Tanjungpandan deflation of 0.58 percent in the Consumer Price Index (CPI) amounted to 132.60 after earlier in July 2016 experienced inflation of 2.34 percent with CPI of 133.37.
Deflation occurs due to a decrease in the price indicated by the decline in the index in three groups of expenditure that foodstuff by 0.95 percent; clothing group by 0.05 percent; and transportation, communication and financial services by 4.08 percent. While the group experienced an increase in the index is processed food, beverages, cigarettes and tobacco 0.15 percent; housing, water, electricity, gas and fuel by 0.17 percent; and education, recreation and sports amounted to 2.16 percent. While health groups do not change the index or relatively stable.
The inflation rate in August 2016 calendar year amounted to 3.64 percent and the inflation rate year-on-year (August 2016 to August 2015) by 3.46 percent.
The core components in August 2016 contributed an inflation of 0.07 percent. While the component whose price is set by the government deflation of 0.43 percent. Likewise, the volatile components deflation of 0.22 percent.
