Abstract

In December 2016 Tanjungpandan City experienced inflation of 0.90 percent in the Consumer Price Index (CPI) amounted to 134.23 after earlier in November 2016 also experienced inflation of 0.70 percent with CPI of 133.03.
Inflation occurs because of the increase in the price indicated by the rise in the index in four groups, namely expense foodstuff by 0.40 percent; clothing group of 0.13 percent; the health group at 0.05 percent; and transportation, communication and financial services by 7.28 percent. While the group index declines were food, beverages, cigarettes and tobacco by 0.04 per cent; housing, water, electricity, gas and fuel by 0.02 percent; and education, recreation and sport 0.01 percent.
The inflation rate in December 2016 calendar year of 4.92 percent and the inflation rate year-on-year (December 2016 to December 2015) amounted to 4.92 percent.
