Abstract

In May 2016 Pangkalpinang deflation of 0.11 percent in the Consumer Price Index (CPI) amounted to 124.41 after April 2014 also experienced a deflation of 0.95 percent with CPI of 124.55.

Deflation occurs due to a decrease in the price indicated by the decline in the index in two groups namely foodstuffs expenditure by 0.05 per cent as well as transport, communications, and financial services by 0.97 percent. While four other groups experienced inflation ie the processed food, beverages, cigarettes and tobacco by 0.11 per cent; housing, water, electricity, gas and fuel by 0.06 percent; clothing group of 0.28 percent; as well as education, recreation and sport 0.05 percent. While health groups stable.

The inflation rate in May 2016 calendar year is inflation of 0.52 per cent and the inflation rate year-on-year (May 2016 to May 2015) amounted to 5.38 percent.

The core components in May 2016 contributed a deflation of 0.10 percent as well as components that are regulated by government price by 0.15 percent. While the volatile components of inflation of 0.14 percent.
