Abstract

In March 2016 Pangkalpinang City experienced inflation of 0.26 percent in the Consumer Price Index (CPI) amounted to 125.74 after earlier in February 2014 which also experienced inflation of 0.39 percent with CPI of 125.41.
Inflation occurs because of the increase in the price indicated by naikknya index in six groups of expenditure that foodstuffs at 0.65 percent; food, beverages, cigarettes and tobacco by 0.11 per cent; housing, water, electricity, gas and fuel by 0.30 percent; clothing group by 0.63 percent; health group by 0,49 percent; as well as education, recreation and sport 0.13 percent. While the transportation, communications, and financial services by 0.42 percent deflation.
The inflation rate in March 2016 calendar year is inflation of 1.59 percent and the inflation rate year-on-year (March 2016 to March 2015) amounted to 6.77 percent.
The core components in March 2016 contributed an inflation of 0.33 per cent as well as volatile components of inflation of 0.13 percent. While the component whose price is set by the government deflation of 0.20 percent.
